Dowerin GWN7 Machinery Field Days this week August 28 – 29

A road trip along the PUBLIC Silo Trail is full of surprises, any time of year, but especially this week. Travel 45km and roughly 70km north-east from Northam (the site of Australia’s first silo mural), and you’ll reach Dowerin, a small agricultural town that boasts one of the largest events of the rural calendar, the Dowerin GWN7 Machinery Field Days.

This Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 August, Dowerin swells from a population of a few hundred to over 25,500 for one of the largest Machinery Field Days in the country. It’s a real carnival atmosphere with over 700 exhibitors from all over the state, country and overseas selling anything from tractors and silo bins to home wares and RM Williams mega-sale. With lots of activities for the whole family, the kids will be occupied while Dad’s shopping – or while Mum’s buying him something special for Fathers’ Day. Check out the visitor program here.
